Active Release Techniques®

What is Active Release Techniques® (ART)?

Active Release Technique® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue movement based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with Active Release Techniques®.

Overused muscles lead to chronic tension causing the formation of dense scar tissue in an affected area.   This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is entrapped you may experience tingling, numbness, and weakness.

What is an Active Release Technique treatment like?

Every Active Release Technique session is actually a combination of examination and treatment.  Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements to release and restore normal tissue texture, tension, and movement.

Graston Technique®

Effectively Treating Acute and Chronic Injuries

Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

The Technique:

  • Separates and breaks down abnormal collagen cross-links (scar tissue)
  • Facilitates reflex changes in the chronic muscle holding pattern
  • Alters spinal reflex activity (facilitated segment)
  • Increases the rate and amount of blood flow to and from the area
  • Increases cellular activity in the region, including fibroblasts and mast cells

CONTEMPORARY MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture (CMA) is a unique approach in treating musculoskeltal injuries, headaches, and visceral pathologies like GERD, and IBS.  This approach utilizes traditional acupuncture points thorughout the human body to enhance localized vascular perfusion (increases blood flow), inhibit pain via endorphin and enkaphlin release, modify muscular activity, and modify nervous system reflexes.  Contemporary Medical Acupunture (CMA) is a unique approach guided by scientific research and a strong understanding of the human nueroanatomy to enhance healing through activation and modification of nervous system input and output via reflexive changes.

Cox® Decompression Distraction Manipulation Technic

A gentle, non-surgical, chiropractic spinal manipulation adjustment technique procedure.  Relieves back and leg pain, and neck and arm pain. Causes of pain commonly include disc herniation and/or stenosis, arthritis and sprain/strain injuries.

Cox® Technic is DOCTOR-APPLIED, DOCTOR-CONTROLLED, HANDS-ON, SPECIFIC CONTACT, PATIENT-FOCUSED care.  The goal is to reduce stenotic effects by dropping intradiscal pressure to allow disc reduction, increasing the size of the intervertebral foramen, and lowering pressure on the dorsal root ganglion and the exiting nerve roots.

Diversified Chiropractic Technique

The Diversified manipulation/adjustment entails a high velocity, low-amplitude thrust that usually results in a cavitation of a joint (quick, shallow thrusts that cause the popping noise often associated with the release of nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide gas within the joint).

Chiropractic doctors use their hands palpate for specific subluxations or joint restrictions and administer precise adjustments to joints that are subluxated (fixated or hypo mobile).  By correcting these subluxations, a chiropractic physician can have a positive effect on the muscular, nervous and immune systems by way of somato-somato, somato-visceral, and visceral somatic reflexive pathways.
